Modernism Show 2015
This modular pop-up pavilion made its debut at the 10th annual Modernism Show in September. The collaboration with Where Wood Meets Steel features steel panels that bolt together in 4’x8′ sections, and steel supports that attach along inner tracks allowing for infinitely adjustable apple ply shelves.
The geometrically-cut Tyvek skin alludes to the decorative concrete block popular during the fifties and sixties, yet is light enough to flicker and glisten like an 8′ sugar cube. The interior displayed the new concrete collection by Studio Shell. The entire structure breaks down and fits in the back of a suburban.
We are excitedly planning future renditions of the pop-up, from a soft, meditative tea house to a sounding board highlighting the talent of various artists and makers of Colorado.
